Boost Your ECHO TRAINING!

The Echosim Lab is a private hands-on one-on-one echocardopgrahy training course and workshop based on a modified Toronto TEE Simulator 28 view exam.  We also instruct physicians and sonographers in the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) 118 view TTE exam.  We subscribe to the 28 TEE view exam as recommended by the Society of Cardiovasular Anesthesiologists (SCA), as adopted by the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE), and as examined by the National Board of Echocardiography (NBE).  We help prepare you for successful completion of the Basic PTEeXAM, Advanced PTEeXAM, ASCeXAM, and CCEeXAM, as administered by the National Board of Echocardiography (NBE).

Instruction is performed in both TTE and TEE using our state-of-the-art Surgical Science Inventive Medical Heartworks Simulators. We use an extremely intense high yield TEE preceptorship model for anesthesiologists, cardiologists, and critical care physicians.  We also instruct ACEP physicians interested in resuscitative TEE in addition to acquiring skills in rapid TTE and TEE using a limited 5 view exam in hemodynamically unstable scenarios. 

We welcome our referrals from both123 Sonography and PTE Masters.  We specialize in accelerated in depth diastology instruction, Live MPR, and 3D TEE.  The simulator is extremely effective for gaining proficiency in echo knobology, 3D acquisitions, and a full montage of hemodynamic measurements.

My philosophy is based on private one-on-one instruction rather than teaching in small groups which I find to be less effective with a lower retention rate.  All training is hands-on echocardiography for complete TEE/TTE exams, focused TTE ultrasound, resuscitative TEE, and limited emergency TEE.  We have a particularly strong 3D echocardiography training course using a combination of our Heartworks Surgical Science simulator and Philips QLab for workstation interpretation.  Live 3D acquisition training is performed using our CAE 3D phantom combined with a 3D Philips TEE probe. 

I have instructed over 100 medical device representatives in transeptal and LAA imaging. Finally, the Echosim Lab has an unusually realistic esophageal airway model for direct visualization of safe and expedient esophageal intubation.
